Run Culture Terms of Use
Last updated: September 29, 2026
Welcome to Run Culture. The Run Culture app is operated by Rush Mills ("Run Culture", "we", "us"). These terms are the rules for using the app. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Questions? Email runcultureus@gmail.com.
1. Who can use Run Culture
You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission.
2. Your account
- You sign in with your email address and a one-time code. Keep access to your email secure.
- Choose a display name that isn't offensive, misleading or someone else's identity. We may change or remove a display name that breaks these rules.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. See our Privacy Policy for what that removes.
3. Your runs and fair play
Run Culture counts runs from Apple Health (including runs that come in from apps like Garmin Connect). To keep challenges fair:
- Only real runs count. Runs typed in by hand are labeled "Manual entry" and don't count.
- Don't fake, alter or copy workouts, or use anything that generates fake runs.
- We may remove runs, results, finishes or rewards, or suspend an account, if we reasonably believe someone isn't playing fairly.
4. Challenges, Mystery Challenges and rewards
- Challenges have their own dates, goals and rules, shown in the app. Runs count when they start within the challenge's dates.
- Mystery Challenges reveal their rule after the week ends. Once a week starts, its rule is locked and can't be changed. Results become final after a short grace period for late syncs, and the winner is picked automatically by the rule.
- Rewards (discounts, in-store items and prize drawings) are provided by Run Culture or by a challenge's sponsor.
- Rewards have no cash value, can't be transferred or exchanged, and are subject to availability and any details shown with the reward.
- In-store rewards must be redeemed in person, and each can be redeemed once.
- Sponsors are responsible for honoring the rewards they offer.
- We may change, pause or cancel a challenge, or correct results affected by an error, if we need to. We'll try to be fair to everyone who took part.
Prize drawings and Mystery Challenge prizes are also covered by the official rules in section 5.
5. Prizes, drawings and Mystery Challenges (official rules)
These official rules apply to every prize drawing and every Mystery Challenge prize in Run Culture.
Organizer. Prize drawings and Mystery Challenges are run by Run Culture, operated by Rush Mills. Some prizes are provided by a challenge's sponsor, who is named with the prize in the app.
No purchase necessary. Run Culture is free. Nothing needs to be bought, and no payment is required, to take part in a challenge, enter a drawing, play a Mystery Challenge, or win a prize. A purchase does not improve your chances of winning.
Who can take part. Anyone with a Run Culture account who meets section 1 of these terms. Run Culture and its operator are not eligible to win.
Entry period. A challenge's entry period is its start and end dates, shown in the app. A Mystery Challenge's entry period is its week, shown in the app. For guess-the-answer weeks, it's the guessing window shown in the app.
How to enter.
- Prize drawings: finish the challenge (or reach the tier shown with the prize) within its dates. You're entered automatically, once per drawing.
- Mystery Challenges: every runner is entered automatically. Your qualifying runs during the week (or, for guess-the-answer weeks, your guesses) count.
How winners are picked.
- Prize drawings: winners are picked at random from all eligible finishers, after the challenge ends. Your odds depend on how many eligible runners finish.
- Mystery Challenges: the winner is decided by that week's rule, which is revealed when the week ends, and then by the tiebreakers listed with the rule, if needed. The rule is locked before the week starts and can't be changed. Results are calculated automatically once the grace period for late syncs ends, and are then final.
Winner notification. Winners are contacted by Run Culture at the email address on their account. If a winner doesn't respond within 14 days, or doesn't meet these rules, we may pick another winner in the same way.
Winners under 18. A winner under 18 needs a parent or guardian to claim the prize on their behalf.
Shipping. Prizes that need to be shipped are sent to US addresses only.
Taxes. Winners are responsible for any taxes on a prize.
Prizes. Prizes are as described in the app, can't be exchanged for cash, and can't be transferred. If a prize becomes unavailable, we may substitute one of equal or greater value.
Fair play. We may disqualify entries that break section 3 of these terms.
Void where prohibited. These drawings and prizes are void where prohibited or restricted by law.
Apple is not a sponsor of, and is not involved in, any challenge, contest, drawing or prize in Run Culture.
6. Health and safety
Run Culture is a fun way to stay motivated. It isn't medical advice.
- Run at your own pace and your own risk, and follow local laws and safety rules.
- Check with a doctor before starting a new exercise program, especially if you have a health condition.
- Never put yourself in danger to complete a challenge, hit a distance or win a riddle.
7. The app itself
- The Run Culture app, name and logo belong to Run Culture. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.
- Don't misuse the app: don't try to break its security, access other people's data, overload it, or copy or resell it.
- The app is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it running, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that every run will sync.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Run Culture isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any injury or loss from running or from using the app. Our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using Run Culture and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If the changes are important, we'll tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA.
